Upper School Kaleidoscope Club Celebrates National Poetry Month Through Remote Learning

To shed light on the pandemic and celebrate National Poetry Month (April 2020), the Kaleidoscope Club compiled a series of positive and fun poems from students at Kew-Forest, in Spanish and English.

Kaleidoscope Club members traditionally gather in the 4th grade classroom with the students and share their original work as well as favorite poems.  This year, the Kaleidoscope Club partnered remotely with our 4th grade students to continue with their annual Poetry Assembly.

Student Kevin R. opened the assembly with his handmade puppet, greeting guests and announcing the readers.  Members were happy that Mrs. MacMullen and Ms. Bernstein joined them in what was a heartwarming and memorable experience, especially during these challenging times.

Thank you to Ms. Lowery and Mr. Bartholomäi for coordinating as faculty advisors to the club.

ABOUT THE KALEIDOSCOPE CLUB
The Kaleidoscope Club is an Upper School club that connects Lower and Upper School around issues of social justice, diversity, and inclusion. They plan activities for special times of the year; visit Lower School classes; and organize community service experiences. Just like a kaleidoscope, when they learn to see themselves and each other in new ways, the results are spectacular!
