Classes take place at Juilliard on Saturdays, 8:30 am - 6:00 pm. Eligible students must be between the ages of 8 and 17, reside in the tristate area (NY, NJ, CT), and have played their instrument for at least two years. The program is tuition-free and actively seeks students from diverse backgrounds underrepresented in the classical music field.
The application deadline is April 1, 2024. Violin, cello, flute, and composition applicants must also submit prescreening recordings by April 1. Auditions will take place at Juilliard on Sat 18 May 2024.
Institute of Creative Problem Solving for Gifted and Talented Students will conduct its entrance exam on Sat 13 Apr 2024 for the 2024-2025 academic year. Students currently in Grades 4-9 who have not previously participated in the program may apply. Each year on May 1st, the United States observes Law Day to celebrate our legal system and the freedoms we enjoy. This year, in the spirit of Law Day, the office for Justice Initiatives and the Historical Society of the New York Codes, invites high school students in New York State to participate in an art contest inspired by the American Bar Associations’s 2024 Law Day theme “Voices of Democracy”.

Jagwear (spiritwear) is a collection of apparel inspired by our school colors, red (maroon) and blue (navy), and mascot (jaguar) to promote school pride.
What counts as Jagwear?
Official Jagwear apparel, the Physical Education (PE) uniform, Field Day t-shirts and/or any other official school related apparel that has been sold in the past to promote school spirit.
If I am a new student, faculty or staff member, or have outgrown my Jagwear, what can I wear?
It is NOT a requirement to wear Jagwear on Jagwear Fridays.
Students: If you do not own Jagwear, students should wear their PE uniform or academic uniform. Students can also opt to wear solid-colored red and blue clothes with no patterns or logos.
Faculty and staff: Faculty and staff without Jagwear should dress as they normally do. They are encouraged (but not required) to wear a mix of our school colors, red (maroon) and blue (navy).
GLSEN's National Day of (No) Silence is organized in solidarity with and to show support for LGBTQIA+ youth across the country who may feel silenced because of their identities.
Those who participate take a day-long vow of silence to symbolically represent the silencing of LGBTQ students.
Summer at The Kew-Forest School (July 8 – August 16, 2024) in Queens provides children entering Kindergarten to Grade 5 with academic enrichment in reading, writing, and mathematics, along with recreational activities including arts & crafts, dance, drama, field trips, martial arts, STEM, swimming, & more.
The program runs from Mon 8 Jul to Fri 16 Aug 2024, (Mon-Fri from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm)

Attendees are encouraged to bring their children and can expect a tour of the camp facility as well as an introduction to the staff and Camp Director. Activities for children will be provided and include arts & crafts, face painting, and more.

YFPI, a student-run organization dedicated to expanding access to foreign policy opportunities through competitive research partnerships with experts from around the world, is hosting an essay competition aimed at extending those opportunities to high schoolers.
In the competition, students will choose a country, identify a global or domestic issue it faces, and propose a foreign policy approach to address the problem. Essays will be reviewed by a number of undergraduate and graduate Yale professors, and the winning pieces will be showcased in YFPI-partnered publications. In addition, they will be rewarding $300 to the first place winner.
