The Kew-Forest School Turns 100 Next Year!

May 24, 2017

Dear Members of The Kew-Forest School Community,

The Kew-Forest School turns 100 next year!  In Fall 2018, we will begin a year-long Centennial celebration. This is an important moment in the life of the School and a wonderful opportunity for Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, and beyond, to recognize and to celebrate one of their most historically influential and significant organizations.

To commemorate this impressive achievement, we invite you to mark your calendars in advance so that you can celebrate with us at The Kew-Forest School’s Centennial Gala on Saturday, October 13, 2018.  Please save the date!

So much has changed over the last century and yet there has been one constant: through each decade and in every class, Kew-Forest graduates have achieved an impressive level of professional and personal success and they have left a distinct mark within their communities and throughout this world.

As we look to the future, the School has a tremendous opportunity to build upon the work of our dedicated family of alums, parents, faculty, staff and friends who have sustained this local treasure for a century.

There is no question that Queens deserves a strong, first-rate independent school option for its children.  The Kew-Forest School is well positioned to maintain this prominent role but will only succeed through the generous and significant financial support of the school’s greater community. We encourage you to respond with enthusiasm and generosity when you are invited by the School and Board of Trustees to join them as they work to ensure the ongoing success of Kew-Forest.

If you would like to participate in a Centennial planning committee or to inquire about supporting Centennial Sponsorships, please contact Jeanne K. Murphy, Director of Institutional Advancement, at jmurphy@kewforest.org, or call her at (718) 551-3114. Also, please make sure to visit www.kewforest.org/Centennial to update your contact information, learn more about our Centennial celebration, the school’s history, and upcoming events as they are announced.

Today is an exciting time to be part of The Kew-Forest School community.  Thank you for your continued support of Kew-Forest’s mission and of the programs that we provide for students.  We look forward to celebrating Kew-Forest’s history and are confident that by working together we can build another 100 years of inspired education for  generations to come.

Sincerely,

Dr. Eric G. Ruoss - Head of School

Carla Jantos MacMullen - Incoming Head of School
