Kew-Forest's Model UN Club Earns “Outstanding Small School" Award at Philadelphia Model UN Conference

Congratulations to our Model UN Club for completing an outstanding season this year! After having great experiences and earning five individual awards at Model UN Conferences at the University of Virginia last November and Harvard in January, the Club attended the Philadelphia Model UN (PHILMUN) in early March.

At PHILMUN, Kew-Forest earned the title of “Outstanding Small School,” the 2nd place award for small delegations. CONGRATULATIONS!  This was Kew-Forest’s first trip to PHILMUN, a smaller regional conference attended by 21 high schools and 500 students overall.

Additional individual highlights at PHILMUN include:
  • David B. and Gabby M. earning the “Distinguished Delegate Award” for representing Indonesia on the UN Department of Political Affairs.
  • David B. has earned awards at his last three Model UN Conferences and deserves special thanks for all he has done as Club Co-President.
  • Laura K. and Oliver T. earned "Most Improved" for representing Indonesia on the International Union for the Conservation of Nature.
Earning the “Outstanding Small School” award would not have been possible without contributions from our other three delegations. Congratulations to Club Officer Sadaf C., Shayla W., Aliya S., Anthony D, David R., and Lambert S.

A very special thanks to Ms. Genelle Diaz for chaperoning the PHILMUN trip and to Mr. Gary Gordon, the club’s faculty advisor, for all he has done to lead the club this past year.

Congratulations to our students for all their hard work!
