The 47 Best Private High Schools in New York City, Ranked

Simone Wilson (Patch Staff)
NEW YORK CITY, NY — America’s largest city may be a dry, dry desert for prestigious public schools, but when it comes to private (read: expensive) high-school education, New York City is No. 1, according to the latest rankings from Niche.com, a popular school ranking and review website.

Of the top 100 private high schools in the nation, NYC stole 10 spots — more than any other city, and even Los Angeles County (which got nine).

NYC also boasts 47 of the top 100 private high schools in New York state, according to Niche.com.

Most of those are either on the Upper East Side or Upper West Side of Manhattan — natch — but a strong six are in Brooklyn, five more in the Bronx, four in Queens and one in Staten Island.

Below, the full Niche.com ranking of NYC’s top private high schools. Got beef with the list? Reach out: simone.wilson@patch.com.
