College Counseling

College Counseling at The Kew-Forest School is about more than exam preparation; it is a process of personal development for every student and acts as a support network for families.

Staff Spotlight: Ms. Lisa Hent, Director of College Counseling & Student Support Services (Grades 7-12)

Ms. Hent earned her BA in English Language and Literature at Williams College and her MA in English Literature from King’s College, London.  Since joining Kew-Forest, she has taught Ninth and Tenth Grade English and spent the last four years as an SAT instructor at Kaplan, one of the premiere standardized test prep agencies.  She is intimately familiar with the full gamut of college admission tests and has worked as a tutor at Legal Outreach, where she assisted with college entrance workshops helping to train students in college admissions interview skills.  Lisa knows and understands Kew-Forest students well – their interests, passions, strengths, weaknesses and more.  She loves helping them plan, achieve and reach their goals.
