ABOUT THE BIG LETDOWN
In THE BIG LETDOWN, Allers argues that there is a large, unseen network in uencing women’s choices. She leans on her journalistic prowess to “delve into  elds as varied as pediatrics, soci- ology, history, feminism, economics, and pop culture to better understand the social history and modern in uences—some subtle, some blatant—that effect women as infant-feeding decision makers every day.” Allers’s goal in writing THE BIG LETDOWNis to educate women on the forces at work manipulating their decisions about breastfeeding so they can make a  clear-eyed decision for their family.
