Affording Kew-Forest

Education costs can be daunting.  This is especially true at non-profit independent schools, like Kew-Forest, which receive no financial support from government or religious organizations.  Our small classes, expert teachers, and diverse extracurricular offerings can only exist with the support of tuition dollars, auxiliary programs, and charitable contributions.  Our commitment to you is simple: every dollar we collect will be used to keep your children’s classes small and their schooling rich, vigorous, and thorough.

Affordability

Each year we award over $3MM dollars in tuition assistance.
Additionally, we offer an installment payment plan to help families manage their monthly cash flow.

  • TUITION ASSISTANCE - Description

At Kew-Forest, we are committed to creating an inclusive community and to that end aim to ensure through our Tuition Assistance program to make our educational program accessible to academically qualified students regardless of their family's ability to afford the full tuition.  The premise of TA is simple: we ask families to pay only what they can reasonably afford after meeting their essential cost of living expenses.

To be considered for TA, an annual application must be submitted through Clarity. The Clarity application can take as little as 30 minutes to complete, is mobile-friendly, will not ask you redundant or irrelevant questions, and will even transfer tax documents directly from the IRS. You can complete it from anywhere, save your progress, and return at any time. At the end of the process, there is a one-time, per family fee of $60 to submit the application to as many schools as accept the Clarity application. Return to your Clarity dashboard upon submission of your application to check for additional documents required by each school and track your status.

If you need assistance during the process of completing your application, there is in-app chat support available as well as email support at support@claritytuition.com and telephone support at (206) 210-3752 in both English and Spanish. The application itself is available fully translated into Spanish.

Please note that TA applications are separate from admission applications and must be completed concurrently. Notifications of acceptance will be released with a tuition assistance award included in the enrollment contract. Also, please be aware that families must resubmit an application each year for which they are seeking TA. Clarity will be helpful in that case as well as it will save your information year-over-year and give you a head-start each application cycle.

  • TUITION PAYMENT PLANS

Kew-Forest offers three tuition payment plans to help families manage this expense. All families, new and returning, are asked to secure their child's enrollment by signing an enrollment contract and paying a non-refundable enrollment deposit (equivalent to 10% of the family contribution) applied toward the full tuition amount. Parents select a payment plan with their enrollment contract. Payment plan options are as follows beginning in June of the year of entry (i.e. June 15, 2024 for a September 2024 entry):

    Option A:
One payment in full of the balance of the tuition, after the deposit is applied, due on or before June 15.

    Option B:*
Two partial payments with the first installment of 60% of the balance of the tuition, after the deposit is applied, due on or before June 15, and the second installment of the remaining 40% due on or before November 15.

    Option C:*
The balance of the tuition, after the deposit is applied, is payable in eight (8) equal monthly installments. The first installment is due on or before June 15, with the last installment due in January.
