Lunar New Year marks the first new moon of the lunisolar calendars traditional to many east Asian countries including China and Vietnam, which are regulated by the cycles of the moon and sun.
The 2021 Lunar New Year begins Friday, February 12 and marks the start of the year of the Ox - an animal that represents diligence, determination and strength!
Traditionally, the Lunar New Year is a time to connect and celebrate with family. Even though current circumstances may keep us apart, we wanted to wish our international students and those in the Kew-Forest family who celebrate a healthy, prosperous and peaceful new year!
To let our Chinese international students know that we are thinking of them during this important cultural holiday (many consider this the most important holiday of the year in China), our faculty and staff created a special video that was sent to wish them a Happy Lunar New Year.
As a thanks for hosting Mr. Ben Boecker’s first educational workshop on love and consent, he is offering the Kew-Forest community a designated night to attend My True Love: A Perfect Musical Fairytale.
