Ms. Tiffany D. Trotter Appointed Next Head of School at Kew-Forest

February 22, 2023

Dear Kew-Forest Community,

I write today to share some very exciting news about the future of The Kew-Forest School. This past November, the Board of Trustees expressed its deep satisfaction with Ms. Tiffany D. Trotter’s leadership since assuming the position of Interim Head of School while also announcing its intent to commence a formal process to evaluate her for the position of “permanent” Head of School. During this vetting process, which was facilitated with the assistance of Educators Collaborative, the Board obtained extensive and insightful information from Kew-Forest faculty, students, families, and staff concerning Ms. Trotter's performance, leadership qualities, and her ability to assume the role of permanent Head of School. The feedback received from our community in this process was overwhelmingly positive and supportive of Ms. Trotter's appointment to the permanent position.  As such, with the unanimous support of the Board of Trustees, it is my great pleasure to announce that Ms. Tiffany D. Trotter has been formally appointed Head of School effective immediately.

During the evaluation process, it became evident that Ms. Trotter's love of our school and unwavering commitment to Kew-Forest during her time here, especially during the past year, have been inspirational to our community and we are confident will serve as an excellent foundation as she leads Kew-Forest through the years ahead. The Board of Trustees looks forward to a long and fruitful collaboration with Ms. Trotter in support of Kew-Forest and its mission. Ms. Trotter's energy, enthusiasm, and vision for the work ahead is infectious and we are excited about the progress that will be made in the coming years under her leadership.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I wish to express our sincere thanks to our families, students, faculty, staff, and others who participated in the vetting process – your contribution was invaluable in helping Kew-Forest to arrive at what we know will prove to be one of our most important decisions in charting the school’s future. In that same spirit, I ask you to join me in congratulating Ms. Trotter on her appointment and welcoming her as our next Head of School!

Sincerely,
